Transparent Vinyl Curtains

Vinyl welding curtains are made from flame-retardant modified PVC vinyl, available in thicknesses from 0.4 to 2 mm. Transparent vinyl strip curtains are designed for enclose welding booths, workstations or machinery and to protect individuals from ultraviolet radiation, sparks, and spatter. They provide a movable barrier when paired with a metal frame and casters that separates light-duty welding stations and creates defined work areas within a workshop. UV-absorbing additives in the material filter 99.9% of harmful ultraviolet and infrared arc radiation, protecting people around the welding area from direct exposure to arc light. The material is flame retardant and self-extinguishes once the flame source is removed.

The flexible vinyl is waterproof and resistant to oil, acids and alkalis. Since the vinyl curtains are available in semi-transparent colors, they allow light in and allow ease of movement for personnel and equipment. Observing the work also becomes way easier without removing the protective barrier. The screens are also easy to install, reposition and rearrange whenever needed.

Vinyl is a more economical option than canvas or aluminized composite screens. It can handle brief exposure to small sparks and light welding spatter so it is usually intended for light-duty welding rather than high-heat applications. However, the material is not suitable for large particles of hot molten slag or continuous radiant heat. For this reason, vinyl curtains should only be used within the right working conditions. It should not replace high-temperature flame-resistant fabrics or aluminized protective materials for plasma cutting, heavy welding or other work that involves high heat exposure.
